Debates With Hibba

Hi everybody! This is a blog update. I upload these when I need to tell you something, but not through a debate. I know, I haven't been as productive as I usually am. School just started, and it's so hard to find time to work on this! I feel really bad for not giving you guys the debates you want. :( So I'm trying a new goal: every two weeks, I will upload a new blog. On Saturday, of course. I just have tests coming up around this time, as first quarter is going to end soon. I have less homework, so I'm going to try separating some time just for my blog! We all know about the Nike x Kaepernick ad. It has exploded all over the internet and reignited the debate. For some, it was shocking, but to others, it was a true sign of heroism: when Colin Kaepernick kneeled, was he right, or should we fight? It’s Hibba, your weekly debating blogger. You’ve just hit VIP backstage tickets to your fave author’s tour. Sweet! You sit in the velvet seats in the special section, with a perfect view of the stage. It’s everyone’s favorite time of year: summer! It’s the season of beaches, BBQs, and books.  Hey, I like to curl up with a good book when I’m free! It’s actually really relaxing... Summer is filled with excitement. There are infinite things to do then! We go venture out into the world, and see new people and places. Others go visit their relatives for an awesome BBQ. And sometimes, we even go volunteer out in the community, saving up those credits to get into your dream college. And one out those of millions, and millions of possibilities is going to visit a museum. And that’s what inspired me for this week’s debate: should all museums be free? Yes or no? Of course, I think it’s definitely a yes. Museums are a wonderful thing, and they should be available to everyone. I’m sitting in between all these teenage girls, just smiling, and thinking about how many episodes of Gaspard and Lisa I’ve missed now. You might be thinking about why a 7-year-old is self-torturing herself like this. Here’s why: My parents had some family come over, and almost all of their children were adolescent girls. My mom told me to sit with these teenyboppers, help them whenever needed, and follow them. And, oh yes I did. They sit for a few moments, talking about some girl who broke up with her boyfriend. Then they ask me for the Wifi password. I’m a smart kid, so from memory, I tell them. And then they take out their phones. And for the next 2 hours, that’s what they do. And for the remaining time, and sit there and either smile, nap, play with my finger, daydream, think, or say something “cute”. That was a pretty depressing day.
