  If you walk down the streets of a city, I think we’ve all seen graffiti. Maybe it was a cool, retro style of letters or an original cartoon against an ombre background, but, we’ve all seen it. It’s everyone’s favorite time of year: summer! It’s the season of beaches, BBQs, and books.  Hey, I like to curl up with a good book when I’m free! It’s actually really relaxing... Summer is filled with excitement. There are infinite things to do then! We go venture out into the world, and see new people and places. Others go visit their relatives for an awesome BBQ. And sometimes, we even go volunteer out in the community, saving up those credits to get into your dream college. And one out those of millions, and millions of possibilities is going to visit a museum. And that’s what inspired me for this week’s debate: should all museums be free? Yes or no? I’m sitting in between all these teenage girls, just smiling, and thinking about how many episodes of Gaspard and Lisa I’ve missed now. You might be thinking about why a 7-year-old is self-torturing herself like this. Here’s why: My parents had some family come over, and almost all of their children were adolescent girls. My mom told me to sit with these teenyboppers, help them whenever needed, and follow them. And, oh yes I did. They sit for a few moments, talking about some girl who broke up with her boyfriend. Then they ask me for the Wifi password. I’m a smart kid, so from memory, I tell them. And then they take out their phones. And for the next 2 hours, that’s what they do. And for the remaining time, and sit there and either smile, nap, play with my finger, daydream, think, or say something “cute”. That was a pretty depressing day. I awoke to an eruption of noise in my living room. “Ugh,” I thought, “What the frick is happening in my house this time?” I sleepily walked into the living room and saw my family, and a bunch of our close friends sitting on the couch, sipping tea, eating ice cream, and watching television with more intensity than I’ve ever seen. My brother was yelling “Go Russia!” like crazy, and other people were shushing each other. I looked at the TV. They were watching the World Cup. Imagine yourself sitting in a boring class of mathematics in middle school. Ugh. The teacher rambles on and on. She’s talking about the history of algebra. Not very interesting, to most people, because that’s how you remember it. But to me, it’s fascinating. Then, she brings up something pretty cool. She says: “Some people believe that Al-Khwarizmi is the ‘father of algebra’ is, while others believe Diophantus is. It’s debatable students.” Hi everyone!
